We have been asked to look after a Little Owl that was found on the Sita landfill site at Blaydon. A very young bird we think that it must have been attacked, possibly by a cat.

Most of its tail and wing feathers are missing or badly damaged so it can?t fly properly. In the short term we are keeping it in a large cage so that we can monitor its progress. The intention is to put in it an aviary with our other two badly disabled birds (see here) where it will have company and plenty of strategically placed perches so that it can move around and maintain muscle strength while we wait for its feathers to grow back in.
