Sadly, our oldest resident wild bird, Bob died 10 days ago. A Tawny Owl, Bob had been living with us for 3 years after he received serious injuries having been hit by a car. Blind in one eye, and no longer active, even by Tawny Owl standards, he adapted well to his new life in an aviary and spent this Summer sharing his quarters with 3 young tawny Owls and a male Barn Owl. We have no means of knowing Bob's age, although he was definitely an adult when he first came to us. He had no obvious illness and was eating and flying well up until his death which we believe was simple old age.
