The female Harris’ Hawk is now sitting tight on eggs that we hope will be hatching in the next week. The female Scops Owl has also lain and these eggs too will hatch very soon. We are still waiting to see whether the Little and Tawny Owls will breed successfully.
The dreadful weather at the start of the month has made life very difficult for the wild owls on the farm. We have continued to feed them and hope that this will be enough to preserve the Barn and Tawny Owl pairs.
We have enjoyed more school visits. Have a look on the Work Wall to see some of the marvellous art work that we have been sent.
You will be able to see us and a selection of our birds at the NFU stand at the Northumberland Show which will be at Corbridge on Bank Holiday Monday, 26th May. This gives us an opportunity to highlight some of the invaluable conservation work undertaken by farmers in our region.
